WHO WE ARE

Alexandra John, a brother and sister duo, based in Los Angeles, are not only real-life twins born on the same day but also musical twins. Their early bond has shaped their lives and led them to develop an infectious brand of Nu-Disco Pop that encompasses both feminine and masculine energies.

Raised in a musical household in San Francisco, Liza and Weston Cain have music flowing through their DNA. Liza spent much of her childhood engaged in performing arts, singing, acting, dancing & also playing the piano. Weston, a seasoned instrumentalist, began playing the drums at the age of four and later picked up other instruments such as the guitar and piano.

Alexandra John are known for their soul-inspiring and boundary-pushing sound. Drawing influence from legends like Earth, Wind & Fire, Bee Gees, Chaka Khan, and Stevie Wonder, as well as contemporary acts like Daft Punk, Dua Lipa, and Calvin Harris, Alexandra John fuses classic and modern sounds.

Together, as Alexandra John, Liza, and Weston create music that inspires and illuminates the soul. Through their music, Alexandra John has addressed universal struggles, including anxiety, addiction, grief, loss, and healing.

Alexandra John first made their mark in 2022 with the release of debut singles “Demons,” “Strung Out,” and “Lock Me Down,” culminating the year with their highly anticipated debut EP, Healing. In 2023, the duo released two singles, “Lonely Night” and “Love Like This,” and have performed at notable venues across LA, including The Hotel Cafe, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang & The Peppermint Club.

In September 2023, the duo went through a music program in Santa Monica, California called LAAMP Music, founded by the members of Stargate, Tor Hermansen & Mikkel Erikson. The school is a nine-month program where you have the opportunity to write songs every week with collaborators from all over the world & have mentors in the industry give you feedback on your work.

“I am not the same person I was when I started LAAMP. It wasn’t only a musical growth experience but a personal journey. While in the experience, there isn’t much time to overthink; you just do. It allowed me to not have time to overthink, trust myself & lean on my intuition & my collaborators for guidance. I am forever grateful for the program, mentors, collaborators, friends & songs created,” says Liza.

“Working at LAAMP was a life-changing experience. There’s nothing else like it. The collaboration and mixture of creatives is a recipe for some really cool songs. All while elevating each other to new heights creatively. Definitely walked out of that experience a different person,” says Weston.

Their latest single, “FANCY,”  is a celebration of romance and a reminder that material things can never compare to genuine connection. It’s for anyone who might appreciate the finer things in life, but all they truly want is the person they fancy (and who fancies them). After all, being adored for who you are will always be worth more than anything you can wear or buy.

Crafted with funky bass licks, spacey synths, and a breezy, danceable rhythm, “Fancy” blends the shimmer of disco with the charm of vintage pop. It’s the band’s third single this year, following their previously released tracks, “Taking Off” and “Me & You.”

Having recently supported David Archuleta at The Bellwether in L.A., fans got a taste of what’s to come. Alexandra John is set to play venues across the West Coast in support of David’s Earthly Delights Tour.  The tour kicks off on September 17th in Phoenix.
